Pumpkin and Society6

I’ve fallen off the blogging wagon for a while now, had been away from computer more than expected, ^^; On top of it all, one of our poor cat, Ginko is being treated for her seizures meaning unexpected extra expenses (argh!)

This year I’m not sure if I will carve anything too crazy on the pumpkins we’ve chosen just yesterday :P (pictured above)

On a different note, I opened a society6 account under puppy52 If anyone of you are on it, give me a shout and I’ll follow you if you like :3 Below is one of the artwork which I made while being inspired :3

And of course if you like any of the products, buy/share/promote any of them, I’d be extremely thankful and trilled! I decided to open shop with some new art which was inspired as I talked to my husband about refreshing an artwork I did before, and the idea grew into a little monster ^^;

Hanami and a break of blue sky

In between errands, I was lucky enough to be able to catch some photos :D

The past few days had been grey, cold, rainy and gloomy, so during errands today it felt so rewarding to have even a little break of blue sky :D These trees were near a school, and I was crazy enough to climb up a rope structure (as high as I can manage) with my camera dangling on one hand ^^;

First ride of 2013

Really glad I had time to take Strida Mini out today!

It was a perfect afternoon for a ride, it was cold but not freezing. So glad to have Strida Mini as I was able to go a bit further than if I was just walking and managed to take some photos with my doll, Aki which I am quite happy with :)

Spring is definitely here, the plum blossoms are blooming, quite slowly, possibly due to the weather — they tend to become fluffier with a bit more sun. It had been rather cloudy and windy the past week…

Cabbage and Pork gyoza

My husband and I love gyozas, and sometimes have cravings to eat it, the ones we purchased often taste like they have a lot of MSG in it, so after I learnt how to make it, I decided to make my own version of the fillings :)

I made gyoza skin/wrappers from this youtube tutorial by ochikeron.

The fillings for the gyoza I made this time are cabbage, carrot, minced garlic, shallot, salt (to draw out the moisture) and pepper. I will be readjusting the amount to see if more vegetables would work out.

I used the food processor we got last year to grind the pork, I used 2 pieces of pork chop loin (I think?) I may reduce the amount of meat and see if it works, as husband remarked that more vegetable will be better. Read more

George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Bird watch continues…

So the bird watch continues, I try not to be by the window too much so as not to scare the birds off ^^; There’s actually other types of birds which comes by but they tend to fly off way faster than Chickadees…

I think the bird on the lower branch could be a white crowned sparrow…
