Richmond No Kill Shelter

Remember the Secret Cat Haven? (Thank you for everyone who wanted to donate and show their support!) Their affiliated shelter RAPS (Richmond Animal Protection Society or RAPS) is having an open house from 12-3pm on 31 Dec 2010 to bring awareness and gather support. Location and contact information can be found here.

Ginko and Yoshi are adopted from RAPS, and we visit the shelter time to time to update them and also check out their cats :) Posted an entry at ginkoyoshi.com if you’re interested in more photos and a video of kittens at play~!

We’re extremely tempted to take this adorable tabby kitten home :P

Autumn bunny finding

I noticed that there are bunnies out and about these days, the weather and temperature seems to be suitable for them I guess :) And guess what I think we might have come across the bunny which induced a lot of “AWWWWWWW” when it was a bebe!!!! Really hope it’s the same bunny! :)

The bunny below is really tame o_o It thought I had food (Unfortunately I don’t :P) and I touched the tip of it’s ear for a moment ^^;

Tried doing a video capture of a very quick Sai doodle test :3 The clip is around 7 minutes long. I forgot to hit resume recording some point in time LOL And yes I did not put sound, please play your own favorite music :P

Cat nap

I’m probably biased, but I think we have a couple of the funniest kittehs in the world! (…Or at least in Canada :P)

One afternoon, after I ate lunch, I saw this LOL Of course I had to whip out the camera and start shooting…

Yoshi did a stretch…

then the next thing we know… someone’s on the floor, looking a bit confused…

Yoshi checks to see whassup…

Ginko pretended nothing happened and climbed back ON TOP of Yoshi ^^;

Not sure why cats like to squeeze in small spaces… these 2 like to do it together ^^;

We have a bigger beanie which they sometimes jump around on, but they mostly sleep in this white one.

When you sleep in a small area, you get tangled

If your snuggle buddy is stinky, you can clean him :P

Use snuggle buddy as a shield when it gets too bright…

Cat show

Checked out a cat show with husband over the weekend, kinda a last minute decision to go as the traffic around the area on the day before was HORRIBLE! ^^; We got stuck in the traffic for almost more than an hour when we were trying to run some errands ^^;

I had been to one cat show back in Singapore before many years ago, but it was very small scale, and at the time I did not even have a camera, so whatever memory of that show was mostly like: Woah those cats are way bigger than the strays we often see in Singapore ^^;!

Being our first time attending a cat show, we didn’t know what to expect really, but seeing all these different cats close up makes us like cats even more :P I do not know every single breed and names of the cats, so please bear with me!

The beauty below is a rag doll kitty called Milo, he’s very sweet and relaxed but can be very playful when you put his favourite toy in front of him :) He won some nice awards, and his owner was very nice and friendly :D

Modern siamese?

This kitty below was so adorable :3 When the judge picked it up it let out a meow of displeasure (lol) but thankfully was cooperative when being handled ^^ It reminds me a little of Garfield no?

The expression on this kitty is so much like a human! XD

And then we came across a lovely couple breeders, Colin and Kelly from Fraser Valley Bengals, they had such beautiful cats with them, we couldn’t stop taking pictures at their area! XD Look at the amazing coat on this handsome boy!

They cannot resist the cat toys XD yet when being held, they’re generally very relaxed ^o^

Just look at the beautiful patterns o_o! Gotta remember to remind my husband to send pictures to the lovely couple ^o^

What a hairless cat look like? ^^; (I’m reminded of Dr. Evil’s kitty from Austin Powers ^^;) I guess they are for people who are allergic to cat hair?

Non related to the show, Check out Yoshi the drama king ;P — harsh chemicals being used to clean the kitchen so they’re cooped up for a bit in the bedroom, Yoshi: Do not want lol!

A few days in – random stuff

Richmond Olympic Oval

Chanced upon the near completed Richmond Olympic Oval in the middle of some errands not long ago, but didn’t have time to look thru pix until now. ^^; While I personally think it’s not as cool as the life size Odaiba Gundam – by the way loads more pix/links at dannychoo.com, husband and I were quite impressed by our quick visit with how it looks so far ^^!

We were graced with a beautiful day.

From this view, it looks a bit like something out of this world ^^;

Did not find out what the red nets/sculptures(?) mean ^^;

Whatever they are, they are huge ^^;

The clouds reminds me of those back in Singapore ^^

Hopefully the Richmond Oval is sound proofed well as the airplanes flying past are really loud ^^;

Too bad there were a few trucks in front of our view and some parts are not completed… took this photo just for the record ^^

Completely non related note :P Had been meaning to post this for a long time too ^^; Was reminded when we need to open our 2nd box for the furkids ^^; Maybe we’re just biased but we thought the cats printed on the boxes (front and back) looks like of Yoshi and Ginko LOL!

Lastly… Honey, I think we has an artist in the family ^^; (with reference to An Engineer’s Guide to Cats) Oh! Just saw that they have a new video - Advanced Cat Yodeling!

This entry is way overdue I know, but I had been awfully busy ^^; I am probably very fatigued these days as one of my eye (optical lol for you DC peeps) is still rather twitchy ^^;

I wanted to draw a new piece of artwork to put on puppy52.com site as an entry image, but haven’t been very happy with my recent artwork, and also not to mention no time to CG properly ^^; CGing can take a few hours to a few days and I just don’t have the luxury at the moment since I have an important deadline to meet ;_; But well today made another step nearer to the deadline so took a little time to sketch a bit :)

Drew a record speed little e-card for a friend :) Her birthday is 28th March ^^!

Took a photo of recent room status to take part in a giveaway contest at dannychoo.com ^^;

Last Sunday me and hubs went to hang out with bro-in-law and waifu ^^

Oh last Saturday, hubs managed to take a couple pix of a raccoon rummaging thru our neighbour’s garbage ^^;

First quickie fan art of 2009!
I was inspired by a really cute youtube clip of a 3D animated Hatsune Miku video, and decided to do a quick doodle of my own version :P You can find a larger version in Gallery :)

A day in Richmond 2

Before I start on my actual post, I want to thank Meimi132 for showing us her Tare-DC teeshirt and plugging my website on hers and on dannychoo.com :D Thanks so so much, glad you like the tee-shirt ^O^! Also thanks Daemonseed for posting pix of his hoodie as a news item too ^^!

Hmmm I haven’t been drawing stuff decent to share this week (ack!) So hope you don’t mind a 2nd installment of “A day in Richmond” before I hit the sack today ^^;

I was on time at the bus stop but the bus was late! I decided to start walking around this time… it’s almost 4 minutes past the time the bus was supposed to be at the bus stop I was waiting at =_=;

I actually took a slightly different route from my usual way so I could take a picture of the runaway bus :P

I had passed by a couple bus stops by now, and the bus I was waiting for is the 2nd one from our right. It was at least 10 minutes later than it’s estimated time of arrival =_=

Welp, walking is good for health lol and since it was a rather nice weather, it wasn’t too bad to walk…

But if the bus had been on time, I would have gotten to this place a bit earlier! ^^; Picked up something before I continued walking…

Passed by one of the places hubs and me sometimes go grab Pho ^^ Mmmm MSG lol…

What we had for dinner? Think it was yesterday or the day before, I woke early and had a craving for A&W’s burger ^^;;; Guess it’s kinda to kill the craving :P
