Paper Lamp shades are delicious

Ginko thinks paper lampshades are yummy, and futher destroyed our lampshade in the living room ^^;

PS: I knew it was her because I saw her do it right in front of me :P

The first time it was torn was on the last day before we returned from a Japan trip. ^^; The lamp shade had a wire ring which was dragged to the bottom of the pole, tearing the lampshade when it happened :P At that time we didn’t know who did it ^^;

So we cut the paper part shorter and tape the bottom wire ring back as a temporary measure… Ginko probably damaged it again (I think I witnessed it probably, which is how I remember it was her ^^;), by tearing the wire off for the 2nd time ^^;

Finally last week this happened ^^; No way to cover that white bit on the pole there ^^;

We bought this fabric with the idea of replacing the lampshade, I finally got around doing it, nothing too fancy, I roughly hand stitched the fabric onto the wire rings at the top and bottom ^^

At night :P Looks darker than it is ^^;

Cute fabric :3 I cut out a bit for a dollfie dream peasant top ^^;

Yoshi’s paw says Hai!

Recently updated my sewing desk a bit with moar Ribba ledges (shelves for my dolls and toys) with help of my husband :3 Having the blythes on the shelves make it easier to put more mess/stuff on the desk lol… Took photos for the record and for the otacool3 workspace submission (will update later on) ^^;

Hope to help husband take some for his submission (muhuhu) and yes… the mess on the desk is starting LOL, I am cutting some pieces for the coming updates ^^;

And one more thing, Mai had a chance to do a Doll show 28 after report :D she couldn’t get online the last 2 days in Tokyo ^^; So grateful that she was able to help me bring some sewing to the doll show XD kya!!

Ah hisashiburi ^^; (?) I try to blog once or twice a week, but last week I had no chance to ^^; By the time I realise, it’s friday already ^^;

Husband decided to pick up Gunpla (Gundam model) building, which is great :D

What is Gunpla?

ETA: omg I found out that I won first place in the mascot contest! O_O; Am very pleased and thank you punynari san!

It means I get to use his airbrush and tools :P to do doll stuff LOL

This time my project is still blythe doll related ^^ I do not have the confidence to try airbrushing on dollfie dream yet.

We took over the bathroom ^^;

In LOL cat news (I told you it’s random!) Yoshi sleeps on top of Ginko this time ^^;

Couldn’t find the laksa paste I used the last time, so we try a different brand

Notes about this brand: It has a lot more chilli oil ^^; so me and husband were coughing from the spicy as we eat ^^;

What’s in it? Tofu puffs, cucumber slices, hard boiled egg, and pan fried shallot slices :3 Nom nom!!

Sorry I sneezed some point in time =_= couldn’t cover my mouth cos hands were busy ^^; I don’t have a working scanner for now, so cannot scan the inked version in to colour just yet, above is a photo of the sketch before I inked :3

Here one of the first bunch of photos taken in the new year our tabby Yoshi having a good life :P At first I thought he was hugging Ginko’s hind leg ^^;

Before the new year ended, I submitted a design for a themed fabric contest at spoonflower, If you like my work please vote for me here! XD

Ustream channel

Discovered ustream.tv thru Azami sensei and Danny, managed to pop on it myself, here’s my channel. Basically it’s a real time broadcasting website where you can share what you’re doing at the moment, real time tutorials etc…

I drew a couple sketches on my last broadcast ^O^ below is one of them, was trying to draw a Moe + sexy maido chan ^^;

I drew this sketch first ^^ I think this one I took shorter time to complete ^^; Or it felt that way ^^;

I haven’t recorded anything permanent yet but I do tweet about it when I go live! :) Sometimes I broadcast Ginko and Yoshi too ^o^! I thought about showing my little sewing room, but not sure if it would be boring ^^;

They helped me inspect one of my Christmas gift to make sure it doesn’t contain explosives :P The present was momentarily featured during my ustream broadcasting too ^^;

Penguin Arale decides to make a run for it after a while ^^;

Bum ^^; She came with a matt finish so some markings appear quite visible when I take photos ^^;

Seems that her head fits the dollfie Santa hat ^^; her glasses is made of soft rubbery material? Too bad I can’t take it out, it’s glued on ^^;

My dollfie daughter’s presents didn’t arrive in time for Christmas, I just hope they arrive safely eventually ;_; Think postal services has a day off on Monday ^^;

Yikes, just realised haven’t blogged in a bit, just been busy trying to sort stuff out and settle in. Boy, it’s only when we down size then we realised we have a lot of stuff lol!

Haven’t really drawn seriously in a bit, the recent sketches of Mirai chan on dannychoo.com reminded me ^^; Not much time to colour personal stuff yet, so here is the black and white pencil sketch for now ^^;/

Pumpkins from the other time are currently sitting outside :P probably have to dump them eventually, I think I saw some mould inside them ^^;

I forgot if the sky was really this strange saturated blue during the time I took thos shot, but the clouds look kinda cool :)

Better days

Husband had been working hard to install storage units around our place ^^; For this one, he had to climb in to assemble the shelves ^^;

We had hot pot for two during one of the colder evenings :3 (yes food pix ahead!) You been warned!

“Humanified” Ginko and Yoshi ^o^/

Managed to get husband to help me look into updating the gallery plug in a while back, but only remember to update the gallery now ^^;/

A few back dated artwork has been inserted into Colour and Fan art :) I had been busy, so barely have time to sketch personal stuff these days, so I dug out a couple more older sketches from my sketchbook. My HP scanner has “conveniently” (hear the sarcasm =_=) decided not to cooperate with my HP laptop once again, so I cannot scan. ^^; I had to take pix and adjust in my computer in order to show my work ^^;

Finally another art related post ^^; Husband was remarking that my “puppy52art” blog is becoming miscellaneous stuff blog :P but I told him photos are art too rite? ^^; Anyhows, I had been am very busy, June = crazy busy, and there are some things which I need but yet to finish! T_T;

Below is a photo a friend took of me at the Artist Alley in Anime Expo 2001 ^^; It was dated July 5 2001, how nostalgic! I was still young and tender then ^^; lol!

I need to finish up 3 pieces of art for printing for the Anime Evolution which is coming very soon (12-14 June 2009) ^^;;;; *stress* It’s been quite a while since I last went to an Anime related convention, I am rather excited ^o^ I hope to take some nice pictures of cosplayers there! I should be bringing my Dollfie Dream Mirai chan ^^/

Now for non-Anime Evolution related stuff/art:
I must thank Gordon for being extremely patient with waiting for me to finish up this 2nd commission! ^^; I took a really long time until I lost track of how long it is… ^^;;;;; I am really truly sorry about that! I’ll let Gordon show the final item this image created is for eventually when it is ready :)

For this particular commission, it is required that I simplify and make changes to the original mascot Gordenette which can be viewed on the banner at gordonator.com. :) Ironically probably because I had a bit more free time at the time I took up the first version (re-feature below), I finished it quite quickly compared to the simplified version above.

Was also commissioned by Otaku Dan to create his name card ^o^!

I mostly used the re-designed mascot image which I created for him (as seen above) to make his name card, so it took slightly less time to do since I did not really need to re-draw/r-create from scratch. But as I got a bit distracted with other happenings going on I had to be poked by Otaku Dan to finish up ^^;;;; So so sorry! Gya I need to clone myself =_=;; must find out from Danny how he does it :P

Sorry, been a while since I posted any artwork I know ^^; Just so many things to do, sometimes my personal art does take a back seat to everything else ^^; Here are a couple artwork which I sketched when I was at the cruise with family :3

Below is one inspired by a girl wearing a red bikini ^o^ I might as well throw in a girl in striped blue and white 2 piece huh? :P

Sakura Saturday

This Saturday’s weather forecast was sunny and clouds, so had to get out there and try to take pix of the fleeting Sakuras (cherryblossoms)!

The white dots on the ground are wild daisies :) I love how serene and peaceful the above photo is ^^

Currently seems like the pale pink sakuras are in (fuwa fuwa) fluffy bloom…

Still using my DSLR which jams occassionally ^^; but thankfully was behaving alright on Saturday ^^

Problem with these pale pink sakuras is that they tend to be washed out in some of the shots, making them challenging to photograph.

Ah I want to go to Japan again ^^;

Weekend usually = Running errands ^^;/ Finally bought kitchen mittens to replace those lost in the baking accident.

I think this is the first time I had a Purdy’s ice cream bar… omg so damn good o_o; Shared it with hubs ^^ the peanuts chunks are the right texture, not too powdery :9~~~~ the ice cream was surprisingly light and refreshing ^^

Good idea to have been provided with the paper cup under the ice cream bar, cos the icecream/chocolate tend to fall apart near the end ^^;

Yoshi seems to have grown up a bit last week :D Looking more like a cat than a grease ball now :P Ginko (The grey kitty at the back) is still chubbier tho lol!

Omake photo of a blythe doll photoshoot, if only we can plant and grow dolls ^^; But since I have a black thumb I may end up killing the doll/plant ^^;

Before I go, want to thank Danny for believing in my work, and being super patient as I work on the next sewing commission thru all my other work etc happening at the same time. My Mirai yukino DD is happy as she get to keep the extra tests sewings which didn’t make the cut lol — will feature those photos in due time ;)
