Happy Dragon Year!

Happy Lunar New Year everyone! :) Realise I haven’t updated the gallery very much last year ^^;

I felt inspired to create a drawing related to the dragon theme so here it is :D click on image below for a larger version ^^/

I drew and colour this in Sai (What is Sai?), the text and border is done in photoshop ^^ black and white version under cut ^^

Also my girls wish all of you a wonderful new year as well~!

Dressing up Mascots

Before I left for Japan, (I’m back now, with a ton of photos to sort out, jet lag etc… ^^;) had the pleasure of drawing santa outfits for a couple different poses on Jlist’s mascot Megumi chan <3 Please note I did not draw the actual mascot ^^/ Just the santa outfit for 2 poses :3

Also managed to squeeze some work for Danny before we made our way to our trip… (under the cut :P)

I love DMYO’s work! So moe!!!! >_<;;;;/ I must thank an artist friend of mine who told me one of my strong points was to be able to somehow blend my work to suit other artist’s style, I think I still have much to learn, especially after working with Danny to pay attention to detail and such ^o^;> But I really enjoyed being able to do something closer to my heart :)

Happy puppy teeshirt brief comparison

Remember this post? My Happy Puppy teeshirt arrived this week, and just last week I washed another one of the same type of tee shirt I ordered… so gonna document it here.

I bought a Mirai fox Ladies Baby Doll (fitted) tee many moons back (see notes on image), but am not sure if I like the bumpy texture, the shrinkage and slight fading over time. So this time I decided to try to buy a different teeshirt, a Kid’s T-shirt in Large to try it out, so far so good?

I think the vibrance of the image after washing definitely depend on the material the teeshirt is made of, the Ladies Baby Doll (fitted) tee is made from a material which will pill (get bumpy after washing), the Kid’s T-shirt is made of a different material. I still need to wear/wash a few times before the final verdict tho~!

I think I like the fit of the Kid’s T-shirt better ^^; Hope it won’t shrink too much over time! :3

Note: I removed the dark apparel selection from my zazzle shop at this time as I’m not very confident with the quality ^^;

Very honored to be credited for my small work in culture japan X3! Got kind permission from Danny to post about the credit LOL!

Mirai in her Retrograde Suit illustrated by Square Enix lead designer Skan Srisuwan. Of course the main bulk of the entire work was done by Skan Srisuwan san, I just did some editing to Mirai’s face ^^;> For more info and larger images on Mirai Millennium check out Danny’s post :)

Happy puppy now on teeshirts

I recently ordered a kid size tee in large from zazzle for myself to replace a teeshirt which was getting worn out ^^; I found the quality was okay on the white teeshirt so I decided to post a couple teeshirts up using the Happy puppy image I used for buttons and stickers on my zazzle ^^

Commission work – Murasaki chan

Have not post much art recently, but recently I had the great pleasure of doing this piece of commission art by Vedrana to create Murasaki chan for her ^O^ blog Murasaki.me

So the process started via some e-mailing back and forth — it’s easier that way to keep track of what is needed to be drawn, each piece of work I do differ from client to client, depending on what they intend to use it for and how much detail, if they need a background or just transparent… :) So when some terms and pricing are agreed upon, I work on a rough sketch to show. Most of the time I request for half or a percentage the payment first when I start work, i.e. show a sketch.

Next step I use Sai to “ink” a cleaner image out to be coloured later (What is Sai?) I use red as it stands out over the rough sketches. I change the line colour to black and remove the layer of rough sketch. Much cleaner this way. I also make corrections and adjustments along the way and e-mail previews to show Vedrana :)

Fast forward… lol! This is close to the final version :) Usually before I get paid in full, I will splash “sample” text across the image. Vedrana had kindly gave me permission to post the art of her mascot :D

At the final stage, any changes which require me to redraw will cost extra, I will still be able to tune/change some colours if needed. But luckily for us, Vedrana liked the final result! :D I only need to change the eye colour ;)

Happy Puppy Stickers and Buttons

Bought some stickers during zazzle’s promotion, and found the stickers not bad, so am posting some up for sale on the zazzle shop ^^;/ the buttons are a bit bigger than the ones I ordered locally tho.
