Phew, been more than a week since I posted any entry ^^;/ Below are a couple rough doodles I did with my finger on the husband’s new toy… Can you guess what it is? :P

So, husband went on a brief business trip, I think he’s really happy with his new toy :P

It took a while to get used to the gestures needed to draw on the ipad (yes he got it lol) , below is the first doodle I made lol!

Husband found an application called Sketchbook pro by Autodesk which is available as a simplified version for the ipad and got me to try it out ^^ below is my 2nd sketch.

My thoughts about it? It is pretty cool for a slightly more elaborate quick doodling with colours, but it’s pretty difficult to draw/paint with precision with our thick fingers lol! I felt that I took longer than I like to draw the 2nd sketch despite slowly getting used to the functions of the application. I know I “undo” a lot of times ^^;

I used photoshop to resize and insert the text into the images.

I think my favorite program for drawing with the computer to date is still Sai (What is Sai?) But then again I have not tried the full version of the actual Sketchbook pro just yet, so I can’t say if the latter is nicer to use than Sai.

I had been busy preparing some items for my friend Mai (mailittlealien.com) to bring to the coming Doll Show, and also we had been busy hanging out with an out of town relative, so it’s all just been pretty crazy, hence the lack of posts in general.

There was a lot of food abuse (ugh) as well, I feel kinda sick looking at food photos now (despite a lot of them are yummy), so none of that until later I think ^^;

Yoshi on the other hand cannot get enough of treats (we gave him a few already before these photos :P)

He was so anxious that he actually nipped my fingers a few times ^^;

For some reason we haven’t taken too much photos of this variety of cherry(?) blossoms this year, but partly also due to that the leaves already came out way ahead likely due to the warm ish weather ^^;

Realised I forgot to post a few non-dollfie photos taken at Garry Point Park when I went there with Mira chan :) Really cool effects when the kites covered the setting sun ^o^

It was really brighter than the above photo :3

Mirai curry

One other thing I really enjoy drawing/painting a lot is food, so when I got a shout from Danny to paint the curry (and Mirai’s arm into place) for Mirai-chan’s curry I of course jumped at the chance to do so!

Are you lucky enough to get a chance to taste Mirai-chan’s curry? It seems that other than bringing this curry to Tokyo CGM night, Danny’s negotiating with Indotei to bring Mirai-chan’s curry to AFA in Singapore! I am so jealous :P!!!

One thing about painting delicious food is that the reference picture often make me feel very hungry ^^;;;;; I had to have an early lunch after I completed the first draft lol! Hope you guys enjoy the image as much as I enjoyed painting it :)

A doodle and etc

Yikes, just realised haven’t blogged in a bit, just been busy trying to sort stuff out and settle in. Boy, it’s only when we down size then we realised we have a lot of stuff lol!

Haven’t really drawn seriously in a bit, the recent sketches of Mirai chan on dannychoo.com reminded me ^^; Not much time to colour personal stuff yet, so here is the black and white pencil sketch for now ^^;/

Pumpkins from the other time are currently sitting outside :P probably have to dump them eventually, I think I saw some mould inside them ^^;

I forgot if the sky was really this strange saturated blue during the time I took thos shot, but the clouds look kinda cool :)

Better days

Husband had been working hard to install storage units around our place ^^; For this one, he had to climb in to assemble the shelves ^^;

We had hot pot for two during one of the colder evenings :3 (yes food pix ahead!) You been warned!

Cat girl art, spring and cats…

Nyah? Haven’t posted new art for a while I know (Nyoron~ ^^;) need.. moar… arms…. ^^;;;
I’ll update this into my gallery later on ^^; I did a couple more sketches but they were rather rough and also after an update recently my computer is refusing to work with the scanner (grrr!) I only managed to get this cat girl drawing into the computer by taking a picture then adjusting in photoshop, then open in Sai to clean up + CG ^^ Hope you like!

This image was inspired by Big box and Maru ^o^! I recommend you watch until the very end of the video LOL I dunno how the person who took the video managed not to laugh out loud XD!

We had company on Wednesday evening, a chance for our furry kids to socialise with humans other than us ^o^ I think they did pretty okay :3 Ginko shy away sometimes (maybe she gets tired from playing) but generally they were very active and amusing to watch :3

I walked to the Mall, as I was partly misguided about the construction blocking my usual bus stop (oops!). But I didn’t mind the walk, it was a great day to walk :) Blue sky, slight breeze, sunshine, amazing weather!

Explosions of flowers!

From far I thought these pink spots on the tree was fruits, but upon closer inspection…

They were buds, some on the verge of bursting into a bloom ^o^

It’s nice to see blue skies like this, but unfortunately in richmond, many higher buildings are being built :( Looks like the stretch of blue sky may be replaced with urban jungle in future…

Took a bit longer to finish this one up as I decided to add some detail to the instrument she was holding (ahem). Her bass guitar was drawn in Flash, exported into PNG file then paste into photoshop and lightly edited. Previous line art progress here.

Our furry kids in the middle of wrestling ^^; they seem to like doing that sometimes ^^; Have to stop them once in a while ^^;

Cherryblossoms in neighbour’s front yard… This year end up not really deliberately going out to take pix, also the weather has been quite weird. Earlier today it got cloudy, hailed for less than a minute, had some blue sky and sunshine and now it’s cloudy again… ^^;

Bonus (LOL)

Been a long time since I really CGed for personal purpose so it feels kinda refreshing, but my (optical) eyes are tired as well since my regular work requires me to look at the computer a lot ^^; Usually I use flash – a vector program, for my day job, which is quite different from “painting”. Really enjoy painting with Sai, since it’s a small and light program and the line art flows very naturally as well. (What is Sai?)

Okie on with some photos :)

Too bad the weekend was mostly cloudy and rainy, so despite some quite photos taken outside, the photos really could had been better if the weather had co-operated. It is the cherryblossom season ^o^ I actually took my Dollfie Dream, Mirai chan out for an outdoor shoot ^^/

Husband had remarked that this year the leaves on a lot of the trees seems to have come out sooner, so the trees doesn’t look as fluffy ^^;

But otherwise in my personal opinion, it is always interesting to see this once a year phenomena and since the weather differs, the photo effects differs as well :)

Picture below is a little washed out, so it looked less overcasted than it really is…

Same with Wendy’s ^^;;;;;; Went for a quick snack cos had too little food for lunch, hungry to the point of low batt ^^;

A baking accident ^^; Put the tray too near the bottom, where the heat is coming from… The gloves almost burnt thru, we cannot imagine if it had burnt my fingers ^^; There was another accident that evening, which also was a close shave, I’ll save the details as it may tramatise some of you :P

So adorable :) they tend to take long nap in the afternoon while we work, and wake up late at night AND very early morning ^^;
