I had a splash of inspiration and decided to try to enter the Threadless challenge! :D

Sorry I had been neglecting the blogs for a bit, had been pushing myself to finish up some sewing work ^^; below is one of the evenings where I actually wasn’t sewing lol

Short random stuff

Can’t remember stuff if I don’t post about it ^^;

I know I need to catch up on some art stuff and post them, but also want to keep track of what’s been going on, other than food abuse (LOL) ^^;

So… there was Mother’s day, husband got a machine for his mom (my mom in law ^^) It’s a Brother machine :3 I helped to show how to use it ^^;

Ginko thinks paper lampshades are yummy, and futher destroyed our lampshade in the living room ^^;

PS: I knew it was her because I saw her do it right in front of me :P

The first time it was torn was on the last day before we returned from a Japan trip. ^^; The lamp shade had a wire ring which was dragged to the bottom of the pole, tearing the lampshade when it happened :P At that time we didn’t know who did it ^^;

So we cut the paper part shorter and tape the bottom wire ring back as a temporary measure… Ginko probably damaged it again (I think I witnessed it probably, which is how I remember it was her ^^;), by tearing the wire off for the 2nd time ^^;

Finally last week this happened ^^; No way to cover that white bit on the pole there ^^;

We bought this fabric with the idea of replacing the lampshade, I finally got around doing it, nothing too fancy, I roughly hand stitched the fabric onto the wire rings at the top and bottom ^^

At night :P Looks darker than it is ^^;

Cute fabric :3 I cut out a bit for a dollfie dream peasant top ^^;

Yoshi’s paw says Hai!

Recently updated my sewing desk a bit with moar Ribba ledges (shelves for my dolls and toys) with help of my husband :3 Having the blythes on the shelves make it easier to put more mess/stuff on the desk lol… Took photos for the record and for the otacool3 workspace submission (will update later on) ^^;

Hope to help husband take some for his submission (muhuhu) and yes… the mess on the desk is starting LOL, I am cutting some pieces for the coming updates ^^;

And one more thing, Mai had a chance to do a Doll show 28 after report :D she couldn’t get online the last 2 days in Tokyo ^^; So grateful that she was able to help me bring some sewing to the doll show XD kya!!

Chinka cosplay

Can this possibly be the first Chinka cosplay? Or should it be crossplay since Ginko (our cat) is actually a girl? ^^; Compare with Hibuse (the cat character in Chinka)

The furkids Ginko (Grey girl) and Yoshi (Tabby boy) has been shedding a lot, so I collected a bunch of their fur, not sure what to do… then we heard about Chinka from Danny…

We managed to get Ginko to cooperate for some photos… I used water soluble glue to stick it on Ginko when she was napping (shhh)

I was gonna make up a story about how a box of Hibuse like kitty arrived at our doorstep but you peeps probably won’t believe me anyways…

Unfortunately during the take over of the box by Yoshi, he damaged Ginko’s splendid ahoge in the process ;_;

Heart breaking story of Ema here ;_; (photos of Ema borrowed from FSC’s flickr)

FSC is a long time friend of mine, who used to be a quiet shy being who loves drawing beyond anyone I ever know. Now a serious cat lover and travelling artist, FSC’s family already have a few cats in their home — all rescued :3

I would imagine they would want to keep Ema, but maybe they’re reaching a limit to be able to let their cats live comfortably without brawls and stress to the cats ^^;

Not too long ago after I heard about Ema the kitty, I saw a flickr friend looking for homes for some rescued kittens as well, also based in Singapore.

Our Ginko and Yoshi were from a no-kill shelter, we still visit the shelter time to time and there’s always plenty of cats, waiting to find their “forever home”. I think people in general need to be aware of the trap nueter release method to keep feral cat population under control, despite that kittens/cats are so cute ^^;

photo below taken at shelter sometime last year, when it’s kitten season ^^; I remember these adorable beans were newly rescued and were so painfully adorable!

I think Singapore has a lot of stray cats, and sometimes the government cull the cats =_= but the root of the problem is still being that the strays are generally not neutered or spayed so they will keep multiplying. I hear that there are cat lovers who trap the cats and release them after neutering, but I would imagine it being difficult to do it without assistance/awareness.

Tried Mazazu crepe for the first time, I find that like the sweet variety (because it’s not overly sweet) ^^; and yes that’s a small slice of cheese cake in there :P there’s strawberries and blue berries in this combination :3

Comparing it to my doll which my friend’s helping me hold :3 I’ll post some of the tiny doll meet pix photos on flickr later ^o^

This was a couple weekends ago at least? It turned out better than expected so I felt that it deserves a mention! :P I made ramen from the frozen variety at home, I reserved 2 pieces of porkchop and vegetables I made for dinner a night or 2 ago, added pan friend shallots, corn and hard boiled egg… omg *dead* :P

Ah hisashiburi ^^; (?) I try to blog once or twice a week, but last week I had no chance to ^^; By the time I realise, it’s friday already ^^;

Husband decided to pick up Gunpla (Gundam model) building, which is great :D

What is Gunpla?

ETA: omg I found out that I won first place in the mascot contest! O_O; Am very pleased and thank you punynari san!

It means I get to use his airbrush and tools :P to do doll stuff LOL

This time my project is still blythe doll related ^^ I do not have the confidence to try airbrushing on dollfie dream yet.

In LOL cat news (I told you it’s random!) Yoshi sleeps on top of Ginko this time ^^;

Couldn’t find the laksa paste I used the last time, so we try a different brand

Notes about this brand: It has a lot more chilli oil ^^; so me and husband were coughing from the spicy as we eat ^^;

What’s in it? Tofu puffs, cucumber slices, hard boiled egg, and pan fried shallot slices :3 Nom nom!!

Cats and cooking

Nono not cooking our cats :P Just some recent photos of Ginko (grey girl) and Yoshi (tabby boy)

I was inspired to try to prepare home made version of Soto Ayam at home thanks to Moonberry :3 Will put the food shots after the cat photos :P

I suspect Ginko is the alpha kitty in the family ^^;

Ginko for some weird reason likes to sleep on top of her brother ^^;

Yoshi doesn’t seem to care… least when he was deep in slumber :P

Wonder if I was just a bit home sick when I felt inspired by moonberry’s post about making Soto ayam, a little while back, it was Laksa lol! I wasn’t gonna make it from scratch tho! Found this packaged paste during our last grocery shopping :D Product of Singapore even ^^;

So part of the morning was spent preparing these:

Made 2 servings :) the soup is enough for around 4-5 servings tho, will keep the rest in the fridge after it cools down.

1) tofu puffs cut diagonally
2) chicken breast, pulled into strips after cooking in Soto paste and 1000ml of water
3) hard boiled eggs
4) cucumber strips (I’m not a fan of picking bean sprouts lol)
5) coriander (or otherwise known as Chinese parsley)
6) pan fried shallots – into golden brown, be careful not to burn it ^^;

The above is set aside, and the noodles was cooked and strained just before serving, and the soup re-heated :3

Arranged the dry stuff in 2 bowls…

Pour the steaming hot soup over… and itadakimasu!

Husband liked it ^o^ So this is a keeper :P will reduce the noodles for next attempt ^^; The shallots smells very fragrant, reminds me of my mom’s cooking ^^;

Cat nap

I’m probably biased, but I think we have a couple of the funniest kittehs in the world! (…Or at least in Canada :P)

One afternoon, after I ate lunch, I saw this LOL Of course I had to whip out the camera and start shooting…

Yoshi did a stretch…

then the next thing we know… someone’s on the floor, looking a bit confused…

Not sure why cats like to squeeze in small spaces… these 2 like to do it together ^^;

We have a bigger beanie which they sometimes jump around on, but they mostly sleep in this white one.

When you sleep in a small area, you get tangled

If your snuggle buddy is stinky, you can clean him :P

Use snuggle buddy as a shield when it gets too bright…
