Took me about half an hour to walk there lol

Gotta buy tickets to eat, drink and play games and they take cash only ^^;/

Part of the food selection has been made to cater more to the Canadian’s tastebuds (there’s cotton candy, hotdog, beer ^^;)

I was too lazy to queue up for the ricebowls (Japanese curry/and chicken karaage I think) so opted for gyozas instead… verdict? I won’t pick that again if I attend it again LOL! I should have tried something from the Bakudanyaki vans instead, not sure what I was thinking lol maybe was just too lazy to join a long queue ^^;

A lot of people brought their kids dressed up in Yukata, totemo kawaii ^O^

Some lovely moms and granmas, also dressed in lovely Yukatas danced along in the circle :)

I did not stay too long as I need to go home to feed the furkids :P It’s really nice to see all the colourful yukatas, it was definitely the highlight of the service. ^^

The green tea frappe (shaved ice) is yummy and fragrant, red bean is not too sweet, and mochi chewy everything goes well with the scoop of green tea ice cream will definitely have it again if we go :P

Decided to have something salty to go with the sweet… potato croquette, the taste reminds us of a bento we had when we met up with Danny last summer time flies! ^^;

Takoyaki’s been sitting in their warmer for a bit :P

During a grocery shopping trip at Izamiya, husband’s picks decided on what I was gonna make for dinner ^o^

Mixed kani kama with some japanese mayo

Avocado was perfect ripeness!

Masago kept in fridge until everything else is ready.

And of course before all these, rice was washed and put in rice cooker. Mixed with some sugar and rice vinegar 10 mins after the rice is done. Then arranged it all on a piece of seaweed on top of the bamboo sushi mat.

I put a bit less rice cos trying to reduce the carb we are taking, so end up it doesn’t wrap all around the ingredients in the center ^^;

On a different evening we decided to try this pasta seasoning XD, there’s 2 people serving of sauce in it, and seaweed bits ^^

It was a salty and spicy sauce XD we added the masago and kani kama, may have changed the taste a bit I guess ^^; I found it a bit too spicy for my preference, but husband like it so we might get it again the next time we go ^^

Since then I have been trying to catch the strawberry season — which is supposedly the main reason why the strawberries are sweet?  I should have trusted my nose when they don’t smell sweet ^^; Below is from the haul of today ^^; Unfortunately they’re not sweet… lol They look fantastic tho :P

I wonder if I missed the season again? ^^; I hope I am just too early (LOL)

I walked out to see if I have any luck to find some sweet strawberries… was distracted by some flowers along the way…

No idea what their names are ^^;

Handed over $5 CAD in exchange for a tub of strawberries…

They look so good, I was quite excited…

The strawberries had soil on them so I had to rinse them carefully a few times…

Glad I could at least take some fantastic photos of them…

Anyone have any tips on how to buy sweet strawberries? Care to share? ^o^ I’m gonna save some of the berries to put sugar on for my husband (he doesn’t like it sour at all!)

Meaty meat…  I tried one piece, it’s quite fat (maybe I got the fattest part of the slices oops lol)

I ordered Shio Ramen, I like it a lot! :D Next time I may order with more cha siew because the cha siew’s tasty! :P

I don’t like to make a fuss about my birthday as I get older, really, so thanks to those who were erm reminded someways or other ^^; I appreciate the thoughts! :)

Had dim sum with the folks in the early afternoon… lol how terrible, almost all carbs or fried ^^; I’m not a big fan of sea food or exotic dim sum choices (chicken feet etc) so it’s a bit hard to make better choices :P

Saw that they added some pavement for this bus stop (to nowhere?) we used to live nearer to :P

Went to our favourite cafe to have some snacks in the later afternoon :) Just told my husband I don’t think I want a cake for my birthday this year ^^;

So… there was Mother’s day, husband got a machine for his mom (my mom in  law ^^) It’s a Brother machine :3 I helped to show how to use it ^^;

Her stay was rather short so I was also trying to spend time catching up with her since I have not seen her in years!

We walked out into Steveston, and had some fun sightings :) At first we were amused by the signage :P

We did not expect to actually see baby ducklings!

They were either trying to get away from us or having a race ^^; There was one duckling trailing behind the Mama duck and she waited a bit for it to catch up, so adorable!

The weather was definitely suitable for fixing roofs ^^;

For lunch, we shared the most awesome club sandwich at The Cannery Cafe ^o^ I mentioned we were sharing and they split it into 2 dishes and still gave us huge serving of salad each o_o;/ Multi grain bread was soft and gently toasted, with a nutty texture, goes very well with the cold cut and perfectly crispy bacon slices… omg lol

After walking around a bit  after lunch, we went to get Gelato from Timothy’s Frozen Yogurt for dessert, it was just amazing, they made the waffle cone after I placed our order — Banana Fudge Gelato — my personal favourite! (I actually haven’t had Gelato for a while now lol)

The waffle cone was actually still hot since it was freshly made, crispy on the outside and gelato was cold. When we bite into the waffle, it was both a little chewy and crispy, what a sensation o_o!!! And this was a small size, still a very generous portion ^^;

I hope to catch up on some art soonish, have just been having a bit too much on my plate and feeling a bit overwhelmed ^^;/ Thanks for looking ^^/

Today I managed to hand over the items I made for the Doll Show to Mai Little Alien, I probably haven’t had enough sleep for a while and my brain feels like it need a load of defragmentation lol.  Today was a glorious day to hang out tho!

Mai chan always try bring one of our favorite cake places’s cakes over when she visits, so today I get to do it for her this time (YEY) and luckily I picked the green tea cake which she liked!

I took some photos of Mokotan, will post it at the doll blog later on ^^ while doing that I found some cute flowers — Lily of the Valley I think?

Had some friends over last friday nite for a small gathering, a whole day of cleaning/cooking/cleaning for me lol, but we can has cake after dinner :9~~~

Cake serving accident ^^; All of us were LOLing when the cake ended up like this…

Oven has trouble ^^; we tried to fix it by replacing oven sensor… but no workie (Nyou~ron) =_= these 2 things below cost almost double here compared to USA O_o pretty crazy!

Went to the Mall’s post office one of the afternoons few moons back… and caught some Lolis doing some cheer leading routine XD!  Husband said they are cute in the sense that they’re still not very graceful, but they’re trying their best XD

Tried Mazazu crepe for the first time, I find that like the sweet variety (because it’s not overly sweet) ^^; and yes that’s a small slice of cheese cake in there :P there’s strawberries and blue berries in this combination :3

Comparing it to my doll which my friend’s helping me hold :3 I’ll post some of the tiny doll meet pix photos on flickr later ^o^

This was a couple weekends ago at least? It turned out better than expected so I felt that it deserves a mention! :P I made ramen from the frozen variety at home, I reserved 2 pieces of porkchop and vegetables I made for dinner a night or 2 ago, added pan friend shallots, corn and hard boiled egg… omg *dead* :P
