Very honored to be credited for my small work in culture japan X3! Got kind permission from Danny to post about the credit LOL!

Mirai in her Retrograde Suit illustrated by Square Enix lead designer Skan Srisuwan. Of course the main bulk of the entire work was done by Skan Srisuwan san, I just did some editing to Mirai’s face ^^;> For more info and larger images on Mirai Millennium check out Danny’s post :)

Been so busy, no have much time to blog, finally got some time to resize some photos, want to make note of the beautiful days and memories this year…

Had a fabulous birthday sometime last month :) secret cake was snuck into the house by husband after he came back from work lol

Interested in having your fan art of Mirai Suenaga being shown on Danny’s culture:japan?

I dug up some older fan art I did of Mirai Suenaga and etc for submission ^o^ Also updated the previous fan art of Kanata Hoshikawa to reflect the correct hair do. ^^; The one above erm I got the idea from someone’s comment ^^; Sketched it in pencils, took a photo of it and drew/colour mostly using Sai.

I’m quite tired so gonna crash soon, will update the artwork in gallery later :)

Pumpkin carving 2010

So I couldn’t decide what I should carve this year…. then it suddenly hit me XD I was so excited after I decided what I want to carve :P

Recognise who she is? It’s not exactly the same as I kinda eyeball sketched it with a sharpie before carving this time ^^;

Mokotan helped me again :) Yoshi wanted to help but I had to chase him away :P

After I finished it, it was already past 3 am…

A bit tricky to take photos in low light condition ^^;

Took many shots, hoping for a few sharp ones ^^;

I had to carve a bit more after I lit some candles, as it felt a bit too dim, but in photos thanks to the lovely 50mm 1:1.4 canon lens on permanent loan from my husband, it looks a lot brighter in photos :3 I have to crank up the ISO tho ^^;

Took a shot this morning too to compare XD

Got a teeshirt for husband for his birthday (late present since his birthday already passed :P), too bad it did not arrive before Anime Evolution on the weekend ^^; Right now it’s waiting to be washed lol

I got a Miraifox teeshirt in white too (Zazzle was having a discount period). ^^; Even tho it did not work out with using Zazzle for the long run…

Those who ordered and kept their dark teeshirts from zazzle that time (despite the disappointment in the printing quality on dark shirts) are probably gonna be the only people who have that teeshirt until a better printer is sourced out ^^;/

On a slightly related note, WorkingMirai is now available for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad!

Had permission for Danny to reveal some past work I did for him… :P (realise I pulled that entry and forgot to post this back) Some of you might recognize Working with Mirai… ^^; had the pleasure to make this which turned into something real with the help of Danny and Dr. Ken!

Progress:- Sketched in pencils, scanned into the computer, drawing and tweaking in Flash, colouring, then more tweaking…

Viola!

Also did the simple animation, the still image of this one went thru a lot of tweaking to make Mirai’s side view more moesome :)

Chinka cosplay

Can this possibly be the first Chinka cosplay? Or should it be crossplay since Ginko (our cat) is actually a girl? ^^; Compare with Hibuse (the cat character in Chinka)

The furkids Ginko (Grey girl) and Yoshi (Tabby boy) has been shedding a lot, so I collected a bunch of their fur, not sure what to do… then we heard about Chinka from Danny…

We managed to get Ginko to cooperate for some photos… I used water soluble glue to stick it on Ginko when she was napping (shhh)

I was gonna make up a story about how a box of Hibuse like kitty arrived at our doorstep but you peeps probably won’t believe me anyways…

Unfortunately during the take over of the box by Yoshi, he damaged Ginko’s splendid ahoge in the process ;_;

Mirai curry

One other thing I really enjoy drawing/painting a lot is food, so when I got a shout from Danny to paint the curry (and Mirai’s arm into place) for Mirai-chan’s curry I of course jumped at the chance to do so!

Are you lucky enough to get a chance to taste Mirai-chan’s curry? It seems that other than bringing this curry to Tokyo CGM night, Danny’s negotiating with Indotei to bring Mirai-chan’s curry to AFA in Singapore! I am so jealous :P!!!

One thing about painting delicious food is that the reference picture often make me feel very hungry ^^;;;;; I had to have an early lunch after I completed the first draft lol! Hope you guys enjoy the image as much as I enjoyed painting it :)

Pumpkin carving

I’ve always been rather curious about pumpkin carving but we never really got around doing it, especially since we don’t celebrate Halloween :P

This year, a few weeks ago we actually checked out a pumpkin patch and acquired a couple pumpkins ^^

Pumpkins sat around for a few weeks before we finally decided that I should carve it before it gets too close to our actual move ^^;

Bought the last pumpkin carving kit from Micheal’s craft store… (Lucky!)

Was somewhat on schedule :P had a few ideas but settled on this impromptu one, started with the smaller pumpkin (which I picked) Husband actually picked one about the same size as mine at first, but he changed his mind and went for a bigger one ^^;

Got Mokotan’s assistance here and there ;P Decided to open the top for this one…

Eek! This part I was on my own ^^;

Scoop the goop, used hands at some point in time ^^; quite messy business this is…

Fast forward… No hands to help me take the actual process of carving lol!

Otsukaresama!

Was almost gonna wait another time to do the 2nd one, but decided to just do it ^^; When else can I continue if I don’t do it this weekend ^^;

Yes, very important to have a doll around lol!

Tried to open the bottom this time ^^

Even more to scoop ^^; but since this is a bigger pumpkin it was easier to stick hand and scrapping tool into the pumpkin this time ^^

Paste on the design you intend to carve on the pumpkin.

Used some flour on the dotted markings ^^; still kinda hard to see ;_;

By the time I’m done, it was already dusk — just in time to light some candles in the pumpkins!

The finer carving didn’t show up as well, probably should try to carve it a bit deeper? I left the top part open so that smoke can escape :3

Ah luckily it’s friendlies :P

I was initially trying to carve a happier mouth shape but it didn’t work out so I shaped it into the “o” shape, probably more fitting for Halloween? :)

The Pumpkin carving kit came with a booklet with a bunch of patterns (which I did not use) and a booklet which included tips on how to carve and on pumpkin care, along with a pumpkin pie recipe ^^ I’ll be wrapping these 2 in saran wrap and leaving them in the fridge when it’s not being lit ;)
